Cassadee Pope is barely out of high school and is already on her way to making it big. The lead singer of the band Hey Monday has been singing around Florida long before her band hit the pop charts. She spent time on stage at local festivals and singing contests and has performed in various bands since the age of 13.

Hey Monday formed after Pope graduated high school and they began to grow, playing their native Florida. When Mike Gentile (lead guitar) and Pope attended the Atlantis Music Conference in Atlanta, they gained the attention of A&R guru, Jay Harren, from Columbia Records. They showcased for Columbia Records in December of 2007 and were soon signed. Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy got a hold of some old Hey Monday demo tapes and immediately gained interest in their project. Wentz was able to work with Hey Monday as part of Decaydance and Columbia joint project.

The band started recording and released their debut album “Hold On Tight," on October 7, 2008. They toured with bands like The Cab, This Providence, and Rocket to the Moon before a larger tour with The Academy is…, We The Kings, and Carolina Liar in support of their debut album.

Since the release, Hey Monday’s album Pope has made an appearance in Fall Out Boy’s music video for “America’s Suitehearts”, as well as in the song, “Take My Hand” by the Cab. They went out on tour with Fall Out Boy in the beginning of 2009 throughout Europe, only to return and continue touring with them throughout the United States. They played the Bamboozle Festival this past May in New Jersey to a huge audience.

Hey Monday recently announced on their myspace that they will be heading out on their very own headlining tour, titled the “Let’s Make a Mess Tour”, with This Providence, Friday Night Boys, Stereo Skyline, and The Bigger Lights. This tour will make its way through the Webster Underground on July 7th. Keep an eye out for news on when Hey Monday will begin work on their sophomore album.
